My recent trip to Alaska awakened my aesthetic senses in a way I’ve missed of late. Since my mom passed, beauty has been a little hard to come by. But viewing a new aspect of God’s majestic creation brought a refreshing breeze to my soul. This morning, I felt a poem coming—something I haven’t experienced in some time. So here it is, a piece of my literary heart, for your enjoyment. I’ll admit it’s melancholy, but along with the beauty of creation, I see the apathy and arrogance of man. This poem reflects that.
Hear and See
Majestic! Glorious!
Creation shouts to deaf ears and beams to blind eyes.
How can they not see You?
The heavens declare to arrogant minds and cold hearts the wonders You have wrought.
Man sees, but chooses not to see.
Man hears, but chooses not to hear.
Now, left with a choir of rocks, the Creator weeps.
If something in creation captures your eyes or ears today, take a moment to worship the One who crafted it from nothing!
